Terms of Service
Last updated: August 4, 2026
The short version.
- We are a massage therapy practice in Hollywood. Booking an appointment means you accept these terms.
- Give us at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Less than that, or not turning up at all, and we charge 50% of the session cost — because the time was held for you and cannot be filled at short notice.
- We do not take a deposit. You pay at the end of your session.
- Massage therapy is not medical care. We do not diagnose, we do not prescribe, and nothing here replaces seeing a doctor. We do not promise a particular result.
- Tell us about your health honestly, including anything that has changed since your last visit. Some conditions make massage unsafe, and we can only work around what we know about.
- Every session is strictly non-sexual. Any request or behaviour suggesting otherwise ends the session immediately, at full charge, and you will not be booked again.
- How we handle your information is a separate document — see our Privacy Policy.
Who we are, and what these terms cover

These terms cover deeperlayers.com, our booking site book.deeperlayers.com, and the massage therapy services we provide. "We" and "us" mean the practice; "you" means you, whether you are a client or just reading. Booking an appointment, or using this website, means you accept these terms.
If you do not agree with them, please do not book — and if something here is unclear or you would like to discuss it before you book, contact us and we will talk it through.
Appointments
We are by appointment only. There are no walk-ins. Appointments can be made through our booking site at book.deeperlayers.com, by phone on (213) 912-2020, or by email to therapy@deeperlayers.com.
Our hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 7pm.
An appointment is confirmed when we confirm it — a request submitted through the booking site is a request until you have our confirmation. We may need to decline or move a booking; if we do, we will tell you as soon as we know and offer you the next available time.
If you are running late
Your session ends at its scheduled finish time, so time lost to a late arrival is time lost from the treatment, and the full fee still applies. This is not a penalty — the appointment after yours starts when it starts. If you know you are going to be late, call us: sometimes we can adjust, and it is always worth asking.
Cancellations and missed appointments
Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Inside that window the time has been held for you and, in practice, cannot be filled.
- 24 hours or more before your appointment — cancel or reschedule at no charge, through the booking site, by phone, or by email.
- Less than 24 hours before, or a missed appointment — charged at 50% of the standard cost of the session you booked.
We would rather not charge anyone this fee, and we apply it with judgement: genuine emergencies, sudden illness and things plainly outside your control are not what it is for. Tell us what happened.
If we have to cancel — for illness, an emergency or anything else — you are never charged, and we will offer you the earliest replacement appointment we have.
Fees and payment
Current prices are shown on our services page and on the booking site, and the price for your session is the one quoted to you when you book. We do not take a deposit to hold an appointment.
Payment is due at the end of your session unless we have agreed something else with you in writing. A late-cancellation or missed-appointment fee is payable on the same basis and is normally settled at your next visit.
Prices can change. A change never applies to an appointment already booked at a quoted price.
What massage therapy is, and what it is not
This is not medical care.
Massage therapy is a complementary therapy. We are certified massage therapists, not physicians. We do not diagnose illness or injury, we do not prescribe or adjust medication, we do not perform chiropractic adjustment or physical therapy, and nothing we do is a substitute for examination, diagnosis or treatment by a qualified medical professional.
If you have a health concern, see a doctor. If you are under medical care, keep seeing the people providing it — massage therapy sits alongside that, not instead of it. If a symptom is severe, sudden or getting worse, seek medical attention rather than booking a massage.
We do not guarantee a particular outcome. Bodies differ, conditions differ, and how someone responds to bodywork differs. We will tell you honestly what we think we can help with, what we think we cannot, and when we think you should be seeing somebody else instead. What we commit to is careful, skilled, attentive work — not a result.
Deep work can leave you sore for a day or two afterwards, and occasionally produces a stronger short-term reaction. We will tell you what to expect, and you should tell us during the session if the pressure is more than you want. It is your session.
Your health information, and your part in this
Safe treatment depends on what you tell us. You agree to give us accurate, complete information about your health, and to keep it current:
- Injuries, surgeries, and current or recent medical conditions.
- Medications you are taking, including blood thinners.
- Pregnancy, or the possibility of it.
- Allergies and skin sensitivities, including to oils and lotions.
- Any change since your last visit, however minor it seems.
Some conditions make massage unsafe, or require it to be adapted, and we can only work around what we know about. If we believe treatment would not be safe or appropriate, we will say so and decline it — and we may ask you to get clearance from your doctor first. Declining is not a judgement about you; it is the job.
What you tell us about your health is used to treat you, and is covered by our Privacy Policy. It is never shared with advertising partners and never sold.
Conduct in the treatment room
Every session is strictly professional and strictly non-sexual.
Any sexual request, remark or behaviour, or any behaviour that is threatening or abusive, ends the session immediately. The full fee remains payable, you will not be booked again, and where appropriate we will report it. There is no warning and no second conversation about this.
You will be draped at all times, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. You undress to your own level of comfort, in private. You may ask us to stop, to change the pressure, to avoid an area, or to end the session, at any point and without giving a reason.
We ask that you arrive clean and free of alcohol and recreational drugs. We may decline to treat anyone who appears intoxicated, and we may decline or end a session for any reason that makes safe, professional treatment impossible — including illness that is contagious.
Minors
We treat clients under 18 only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and with that parent or guardian present in the room for the whole session.
This website
The text, images, articles and design on deeperlayers.com belong to the practice or are used with permission. You are welcome to read, print and share pages for your own personal use. Reproducing or republishing our content elsewhere — in whole or in substantial part — needs our permission first.
The articles on this site are general education about bodywork. They are not advice about your particular situation, and reading one does not make you our client. Where we link to another website, we are not responsible for what it says or does.
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current at every moment.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, our liability arising out of the services or this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the session the claim relates to, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct, or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nor does anything here ask you to waive a right California law gives you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and the courts of Los Angeles County, California are where any dispute is heard. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of it still stands.
If you have a complaint, please bring it to us first — contact us and we will try to put it right. Most things are resolved with a conversation.
Changes to these terms
If our practices change, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. The terms that apply to your appointment are the ones published when you booked it. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
